Market report BMW Isetta 300 and 600 Limo
These novelty cars are extremely popular among
collectors the smaller 300 series car which
has as a door latch that opens the entire front
of the car while pivoting the steering wheel
and steering column forward to allow entrance.
The 300 also have a narrow inset rear axle that
often gives the appearance of a three-wheeled
vehicle although it is a four wheeler. The 300
has a large (for the size of the car) sunroof.
The 600 larger car with seating for four is
not nearly as collectible and falls in line
value wise to many small European sedans of
the early sixties.
Isetta by BMW 1957-1962 300 series (note a
250 was offered in 1956)
Show quality $20,000 Excellent $13,000 Above
average or older restoration $9,000 Average
(very usable as is but needs work throughout
to be excellent) (flaws can be easily seen from
20 feet away) $6,500 Edgy (you don’t want
this in front of your house) $4,000
600 2-door sedans 1957-1960
Show Quality $5,000 Excellent $4,000 Above
average 2,500 Average $1,800 Edgy $900
I believe that we will see a continued rise
in the values of the small 300 Isetta, particularly
for a high quality original or a car that has
been properly restored. For a long-term investment,
micro cars offer fun, rarity and easier storage
then most other cars.
