Description:
1964 FORD FALCON RANCHERO
Built to be fun on both the street and strip this Ranchero originally from the estate of R.C. Smith Racing was professionally built for both. This high quality build includes lots of racing goodies as shown below. The Ranchero has been repainted in its original X-code color of Vintage Burgundy Metallic and has been pinstriped by Gagnon. There are many custom touches to both the interior and exterior of the vehicle such as the 65/66 mustang gauge cluster to get a 140 mph speedo, and relocation of the quarter panel emblems to the front portion of the bed to allow for the custom artwork at the rear quarters. Don’t let the 289 emblems fool you the motor is a built high performance Ford 302 that once ran nitrous. Built on a SVO block with forged crank, rods and pistons roller cam and lifters topped by Aluminum Heads and a Holley 750 Double pumper. Feed by a fuel cell and relocated battery in the bed. The engine vitals are monitored by Auto Meter Guages and it is cooled by an Aluminum Radiator and high flow oil pump. The transmission is a built C4 with transbrake, 4000 RPM stall speed convertor and it is shifted by a B&M reverse sequence racing shifter. To help on both the track and the street the transmission is backed by a Gear Vendor under/over drive with Auto/Manual modes. The manual mode to switched from the B&M shifter button. All of this feeds a Billet Performance custom 9 inch rear end loaded with linko locker 4.11 gears and Mark Williams master line 35 spline axles, turning Weld drag racing rear wheels. The axle is supported by an adjustable ladder bar suspension with adjustable shocks and to make room for everything the rear wheel wells and bed have been tubbed. The Ranchero stops using Areospace Components four wheel disk brakes which includes a line lock activated from inside the cockpit. The cockpit includes racing seats, a previously NHRA certified roll cage and 5 point safety harnesses for both the driver and passenger. 100’s of hours have gone into the build and as can be seen many high quality parts were used along with many show quality custom touches being added. Documentation that I received and the Nitrous equipment that was removed is included in the sale.
