SHARP CLASSIC CHEVY TRUCK! SMOOTH 350 V8, 700R4 AUTO, PS/B W/ FRONT DISC, NICE! This solid 1968 Chevrolet C10 Custom pickup offers chiseled good looks enhanced by a timeless color combination. A lot of maintenance work was recently completed, and it presents extremely well with straight bodywork, a handsome and functional interior, plus a smooth-running small block V8. If you're looking for a way to combine work and fun, this is the answer. The first thing you notice about this truck is the bright white top over light green paint scheme. If you're not a fan of over-the-top colors, the simple, correct, no-nonsense look is right-on-the-money. It was competed several years ago and was never intended to be a show vehicle, although a professional cut and buff would really make it pop that much more. The simplicity of these trucks is also their best styling feature, with no gimmicks or add-ons, but rather a chiseled, masculine shape that is undeniably American. The bed has been treated to a spray-in bedliner, which is both durable and practical, and it's neatly done with the floor of the bed fully protected. The styling on these trucks is a slam-dunk, and the "Custom" trim package breaks-up the light green paint just right and flows front-to-back into the shiny bumpers. Two-tone vinyl is the covering of choice inside, where the original bench seat has been nicely reupholstered and remains firm and comfortable. The black instrument panel is clean and crisp and matches the dash pad, and chrome door panel inserts and black carpets work very nicely with the theme of the truck. The C10 offered a fairly comprehensive array of gauges, all of which are fully functional, and don't fret if you've noticed the delete plate in the dash, as a glove-box mounted Pioneer AM/FM/CD/AUX head unit now takes control of the tunes. The 3-spoke SS steering wheel shows a little wear on its horn button but still spruces the cabin up, and the nicely painted dash and glove box doors ties the entire interior together. Utilitarian yet stylish, the cab of this C10 is a very welcoming place. The incredibly sanitary engine bay houses a great-running 350 cubic inch V8 that fires straight to attention with a flick of the ignition. It's built right and fed through an Edelbrock 650CFM 4-barrel carburetor and chrome intake, and dressed-up with slotted Edelbrock valve covers and matching air cleaner. They used Chevy Orange paint on the block and satin black on the inner fenders, keeping the OEM look and feel throughout, although most factory trucks never looked this good under the hood. There's a ton of newer components, ranging from the alternator to the master cylinder/brake booster, and the way it runs means that someone spent the time to get it sorted out properly after it was done. A 700R4 automatic transmission shifts smoothly and stays calm with the help of a trans cooler, and it feeds a 12-bolt rear-end out back. Stock exhaust manifolds feed a dual exhaust system that feature Thrush mufflers bellowing out a deep, throaty tone. Lots of recent brake and suspension work has sured up the ride, so you can nail those power steering-assisted turns with confidence, and know that the power front discs will stop you on a dime. Few wheels look better on a C10 than shiny Dick Cepeks, which wear 275/60/15 Hankook blackwall radials that fit neatly in the wheel wells with plenty of room to spare.
