Current Auction: SUN VALLEY AUCTION 2021 on September 4th, 2021
    12

Lot #:    12
Year:    1956
Make:    Dodge
Body Style:    2 dr
Description:    This is a 1956 Lancer 2 door hardtop. It has the 270 cid " Red Ram " poly head engine. It is rated 189 hp with the stock 2-barrel carburetor. The man who built this car found a "RARE" Vintage Offenhauser performance 4-barrel aluminum intake manifold for it and mounted a new Holley Performance carburetor on it. It also has an upgrade of an electronic ignition, illuminating the troublesome ignition points. The Poly head was designed to have better flow and in turn created more horse power due to the shape of the combustion chamber. A 1956 Chevy came with a 162 hp 265 cid and a 180hp 265 four barrel version with power packed heads. The Dodge 270 with the two barrel carburetor had nine more horses than the power pack four barrel Chevy With the upgrades this Dodge should be at least in the neighborhood of 205hp. Other upgrades include four- wheel power disk brakes, Coker wide white radial tires, modern rear end, "COLD Air conditioning", alternator upgrade, power windows and an AM FM CD with remote control under the front seat. The original radio could be hooked and made to work with the power antenna, if desired. The new radio is out of sight as to not take away from the beauty of the original dash radio. The power windows are operational from two locations for convenience. Seat belt with retractors have been installed. The floors are original and rust free. Sound deadening mat was installed on all the floors including the trunk and I believe also in the doors. It is a tricolor car with light Briar Rose on top, a darker shade of Briar Rose on the bottom and Grey metalic with hint of rose pearl in the middle. It has been cut and polished to near perfection. The interior is combination of pleat and roll vinyl and hard bound nylon cloth. It has new door trunk and hood rubber seals. There are over sixty pieces of Chrome and stainless that has been re-chrome or hand polished during the build of this car along with countless hours of labor and dedication. The car was judged "BEST MOPAR" AT ONE OF THE "JOE MAMAS" ANNUAL CAR SHOWS.
