Description:    1978 Pontiac Trans AM 2W87Z8N134299 Firebird Trans AM, 400CI Automatic, believed to be 29,000 original miles, two owner car, Restoration down to metal in 2008 by Restore a Muscle Car in Lincoln, Nebraska, Pontiac L78 400 CI V8 engine, $28,000 in restoration receipts. Has orignal Virginia matching license plates last registered in May 2006. The second generation debut for the 1970 model year through 1981 production was delayed until February 26, 1970, because of tooling and engineering problems; thus, its popular designation as a 1970½ model, while leftover 1969s were listed in early Pontiac literature without a model-year identification. This generation of Firebirds were available in coupe form only. This Firebird Trans Am is a rear wheel drive coupé motor vehicle with a front placed engine, from Pontiac. Power is produced by an overhead valve, 6.6 litre naturally aspirated 8 cylinder engine, with 2 valves per cylinder that produces power and torque figures of 220 HORSEPOWER @ 4,000 RPM and 320 lb.ft. torque @ 2,000 RPM respectively and 1/4-mile in 16.1 seconds @ 83.1 MPH.
