1979 Mercedes-Benz 280SE with 147K one owner miles is finished in brown over a tan vinyl interior. This car was recently acquired from the original owner of 37 years. Sold new in South San Francisco this California blue plate has spent its whole life in San Francisco. No rust or corrosion of any type is present.
Produced from 1972-1980 this was the first series of MBs officially designated as an S-Class. This Mercedes Benz is powered by a 2.8 liter DOHC inline-six and paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Exterior finishes on this W116 are in excellent condition. The brown paint is original and retains a nice shine. Body panels are straight with consistent gaps. No rust is present. The extensive bright work is complete. The rubber and plastic trim are solid without any notable fading. Original-type 14″ wheels wear brand new tires.
Underbody inspection indicates no accident damage, repairs, or structural rust.
The interior remains original except for the radio. Carpets show no wear, stains or fading. All lighting, gauges, switchgear, and climate controls work correctly including the odometer.

Suspension components including new control arms have been recently replaced as well as a complete brake service. The M110.985 DOHC inline-six is equipped with Bosch fuel injection.
