Description:
Up for sale is a 1951 MG TD. Car number 6459, engine number XPAG/TD/HX6809. All numbers match the data plates. Odometer reads 68404 miles. Car was purchased in California after a partial restoration was started and was trucked to Idaho where the restoration was completed. During the six years that I've owned the car, numerous upgrades and improvements have been made including a recent complete valve train overhaul. The car is in excellent condition with no rust and drives very well and everything works but the clock. But now that the restoration of my 1952 TD is complete I have three TDs and one has to be sold to make room for a MGB that has been added to the collection Receipts for all the parts and upgrades are available for inspection. A partial list is included below:
Replace brake shoes & rebuild cylinders all four wheels
Rebuilt master brake cylinder
Replace boots on steering cylinders
Replace windscreen wiper motor and blades
Replace generator with MG type including reduction gear and tach cable
Replace all wiring with new harness
Replace voltage regulator
Overhaul ammeter
Replace ignition and light switches
Repair dipper switch/horn button
Install turn signals
Install headlight retaining clips
Replace bushing in brake pedal and return spring
Replace all clevis pins in clutch system
Replace clutch actuating rod with new Cobalt adjustable rod
Replace clutch lever
Install clutch and brake pedal pads
Install rubber brake/clutch pedal fume guard and pedal box rubber pad
Replaced driver door upper hinge
Rebuilt driver door lower hinge
Replaced driver door striker plate and wedge
Repaired driver side windscreen support trim and rechromed support, wing nut and dome nut
Replaced windscreen support studs with correct size
Removed after-market solid state fuel pump and installed new SU MG type pump
Replaced fuel low light sending unit
Pressure washed and inspected fuel tank
Installed fuel cap gasket
Drained and refilled engine, gearbox and differential oil
Flushed cooling system and refilled with new antifreeze
Rebuilt both carburetors
Replace oil filter housing with spin-on filter type.
Replace thermostat housing and thermostat with replaceable thermostat type.
Replace branch pipe.
Replace water pump & Pulley
Overhaul rear shocks (Girling) and replace shock links, bushings and studs.
Install Pertronix electronic ignition system
Complete valve train overhaul including new valves, guides, springs, seals
New carpet
