Description:
It was purchased approximately two and one half years ago after it had undergone major mechanical upgrading and the truck has had further cosmetic restoration that was just completed. The truck was originally built as a two wheel drive pickup however it was recently converted to a four wheel drive with this conversion to be addressed later. The main vehicle features include a six cylinder gasoline engine, manual transmission, dual exterior mirrors, Model-A spare tire trunk mounted in the bed, mag wheels, two-tone paint, dual exhaust system, Fujitsu Ten stereo speakers mounted in the overhead interior panel above the windshield and a JVC CD player mounted in the same area.
This is an all steel pickup and has been partially restored so there were no large existing dings or dents and the only panel that had been replaced was the tailgate shell. The rest of the body was nice with no other areas that were in need of restoration and the body fits appear to be fine with this being an indication that there had been no prior major damage of any kind. The paint was in fair condition at the time it was purchased so after any minor body work was completed it had been completely repainted and the paint is in show condition with approximately $10,000 being invested in the recently completed paint work. The body of the pickup is painted red with black fenders, black cab belt molding, black windshield surround and black running boards and as noted the paint is in show condition. The paint is highly shined and having been seldom driven since the repaint, there are no rock chips, scratches or other paint blemishes on any of the body panels. The firewall was correctly repainted as were the door jambs plus the truck was properly masked prior to the repaint as there is no overspray on any of the trim moldings, weather-stripping or the undercarriage. The bed has been nicely restored with the addition of a new wood floor including stainless steel divider slats having been installed and all of the glass including the windshield is nice as none of the glass shows any rock shops, cracks or pitted areas either. The exterior chrome trim is nice as new stainless front bumper has been added, the chrome grille is nice as are the headlight surrounds, the rear bumper has only one chip on the upper center section but this bumper has no major damage and new tailgate chains have been added.
The interior was restored before being purchased with the interior being in nice condition with no major wear showing in any areas. The bench seat has been recovered in high quality brown cloth material with brown vinyl surround panels so the seat has no rips, tears or other wear marks and carpeting has been replaced with a new carpet kit so the carpet has no rips, tears or staining. A new brown cloth headliner was added during the restoration and the tan painted dash face is nice as are the tan painted door panels with only the steering wheel being in need of restoration or replacement due to wear.
The Prime Well PD850 radial black wall tires all have new tread and the aftermarket chrome mag wheels feature center spinners with all four wheels being nice and having no damage. The truck still has the original 1941 frame but all 1984 Chevrolet S-10 running gear has been installed. The original four cylinder engine has been replaced with a 2.6 liter six cylinder gasoline engine, the S-10 five speed manual transmission has been installed as the S-10 rear end and you have and you have advised that this running gear has approximately 7,000 miles of usage. We cannot warrant the mechanical condition and that it is in need of no major service or repair work of any kind. The engine and engine compartment areas are in need of being steam-cleaned and detailed however there no oil leaks visible and a chrome air cleaner are had been added for dress up.
The overall exterior cosmetic condition of your Chevrolet pickup is very nice on the exterior and the interior is in nice condition as the interior has no major wear. The mechanical condition is assumed to be very good based on the information that you have provided and by any receipts in your possession and the unknown mileage has no bearing on the value as the truck is seventy three years old (the running gear miles of usage are however low). The older Chevrolet pickup are very popular on the used resale and collector markets and this is basically a one of a kind truck due to the four wheel drive conversion. The value of your truck is enhanced by the high quality of the restoration and custom work. After physical inspection it is in their opinion the fair market retail value is around 30,000. Opinion based from thirty nine year experience in the specialty automobile and truck industries in that market area.
