After a complete re-design of the entire lineup in 1957, the jewel of the Dodge lineup was the all-new Custom Royal. Available in 2 or 4 door Lancer or a 2 door convertible, the Custom Royal was built atop an ultra long 122" wheelbase with "Torsion-Bar" independent front suspension and rear leaf spring set-up with shock absorbers.
The '57 Custom Royal seen here is a special example that was originally ordered with the 3-speed Torqueflite automatic, but was powered by the smaller 325ci "Red Ram" V8. During the restoration, however, a correct 325ci D500 Hemi V8 was installed, complete with correct dual Carter Carburetors and side intakes
