Description:
The DeSoto Powermaster was built by the Chrysler Corporation from 1953 to 1954. The car “debuted” during DeSoto’s 25th anniversary, making it of even more interest to the consumer market. The Powermaster was offered in three models: pillared two and four-door sedans, as well as a station wagon model. Each car was powered by a Chrysler 250 in I6 engine.
The car also featured a curved windshield rather than the two-piece windshield previously offered by DeSoto automobiles. Passenger compartment heaters, electric clocks, power brakes, power steering and white wall tires were all available as options. Check out the spectacular wood trim in the rear.
This DeSoto Powermaster is a beautiful example of the bodacious and stylish 1950’s automobiles produced. The chrome is plentiful and exemplary, and the mauve-berry finish is eye-catching. The interior is incredibly original and in very nice condition. Great panel fit, no rust. The car has just had the brakes gone through and runs and drives beautifully. Formerly from the wine country in California, it still has its rifle scabbard in the back to place your shotgun or rifle in behind the driver’s seat in case you run into wild boars. An excellent beach cruiser, picnic-er or tailgater. Take it to Lake Havasu. Be the life of the party. Beautiful DeSoto.
