Description:    This 1969 convertible has only 7600 original miles on it. I have a signed statement from the original purchaser verifying the miles as of November 2006 to be 7469. There were only 6000 Corvairs built in 1969 and only 521 of those were convertibles. Production stopped on May 14th of that year and this car was built during the 3rd week of April. Only 911 cars were built after this car which makes it one of the last convertibles to roll off of the assembly line. The car was originally delivered to Bob Donohoe Chevrolet in Brooklyn Michigan sometime in May of 1969. My understanding that that Bob was a collector of many vintage Chevrolets and when he found out production of the Corvair was ending he ordered this car. It was used by his wife as a demo for a short time, approximately 200 miles from what I was told. It then sat at the dealership unit it was transferred to Richard Janes on 02/04/73. Mr Janes drove the car very little in the years he had owned it, basically enough to keep everything working and lubricated. From my understanding Mr Janes was a very particular gentleman and the car had gotten some scratches and marks on it so he had the car completely repainted, although the jambs and undersides of the panels appear to be original. All of the trim and moldings were removed during the process. I do not have any idea as to when it was done. It still looks very nice with only a few little nicks here and there. The interior is original and appears as though it is new because of its condition. The tires appear to be the original Uniroyal Laredo tires, all 5 of them. The engine is complete and original down to the smog system. The battery has been replaced. For some reason the jack and lug wrench are missing, it will also need a new muffler, it appears to be original but is beginning to rust. The car was protected with the Ziebart rust proofing product when Mr Janes purchased it. It is not a highly optioned car, it is the 110 automatic with bucket seats, manual top and am radio. The car runs extremely well considering it has been sitting most of its life. I have some paperwork with the car and the original protecto-plate.
Condition:    1.7
